Vasati is a modern form of the ancient Vedic architectural science, Vaastu.

Vaastu is part of the 40.000 year old Vedas, and was written down on palm leaves 5000 years ago. The Sanskrit word, Vaastu means the dwelling of humans and Gods, consists of disciples born out of a traditional view on how the laws of nature affect the living space. The doctrine of Vaastu is concerned primarily with architecture – houses, forts, temples, apartments and other buildings. The designs are based on directional alignments, presence of the 5 elements and the effect of Planets.

Vasati incorporates the universal laws of Energy (Va), Information (Sa), Geometry (Ti) and also Astrology. This complex architectural concept helps to set back the harmony of spatial energies in order to bringing the inhabitants back in resonance with Nature and the Universe. The physical home is an extension of the human body and influences our personal development, health and good fortune.

Vasati vs. Feng Shui

The concept of Feng Shui is not very different from Vaastu. The principle behind both are the same. Chinese refer to Chi as the cosmic breath and recognize that there is a male (positive) force and a female (negative) force which they call ‘Yin’ and ‘Yang’. Both sciences believe that the building should be oriented towards the north-south direction.

But! Feng Shui concentrates on life energies and strives for a correction of energetic blockages, Vaastu goes much further, incorporating many more principles thus firmly establishing the relationship between the house and its inhabitants.
